1. Pamporovo is a resort complex at the heart of Rhodope Mountain, where both winter and summer sports can be practiced. The resort is also considered to be the place with greatest number of sunny days per year.
Tips: Enduro and Downhill biking may be combined and for the ‘black’ routes it is recommended to ride your DH bike.
The subscription card is also valid for Mechi Chal – Chepelare – the longest trail on the Balkan Peninsula, so make sure you have the energy and provisions for an all-day riding in the mountains.
2. Borovets is a classic bike park in Rila Mountain and is about 60 km away from the capital. Winter sports can be practiced in the winter and the lifts can lift you up to 2,500 m. above sea level.
Tips: Be careful when choosing your bike, because there are Downhill and Enduro trails.
Make sure to use the Gondola lift to lift you up, because from there you could ride on the epic Musala trail!
3. Vitosha is the ‘home mountain’ of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. The mountain is only about 20 minutes away from the city. It offers facilities both for winter and summer sports – from paragliding to skiing and snowboarding.
Tips: If you have decided to accelerate towards Simeonovo, Zheleznitsa and Momina skala, direction Boyana, take your Enduro bike with you. That trail is awesome for such a bike.
The DH trails are Goli vrah and Dragalevtsi. Both are great for beginners as well as for advanced bikers.
